About the Vegas™ SmartSaver
How does the Vegas™ SmartSaver work?
The Vegas™ SmartSaver works by changing the size of the water flow path to the shower handpiece. When the outer sleeve is turned, the sleeve travels up or down the inner shaft, changing the internal flow path size, and also the water flow rate. The Vegas™ SmartSaver therefore acts as a flow adjustor, because the flow can be changed, not as a flow restrictor, which is designed to provide a maximum flow rate. In many cases the maximum flow rate of a flow restrictor is set a greatly reduced flow rate. e.g. Many unrestricted showers can deliver 20 litres per minute but a 3 star shower limits the maximum flow to 7.5 to 9.0 litres per minute.
What flowrate range does the Vegas™ SmartSaver allow?
The Vegas™ SmartSaver typically allows a flow range of less than 3 litres per minute, up to 15 litres per minute, with actual numbers depending on supply pressure, installed handset, and other variables affecting system flow.
How does the Vegas™ SmartSaver save Water, Energy, and Money?
Many people find that they don’t like showers with flow restrictors in them, as they have trouble rinsing out their hair, or getting clean after a hard days work. This means that many people either don’t install a flow-restricted shower, or they remove the flow restrictor. This then means that the shower gives the maximum flow all the time, even when the user doesn’t really need it. Enter Vegas™ SmartSaver. It lets you turn the flow up when you need more flow, and down when you don’t. Using the Vegas™ SmartSaver means that the average flowrate of the shower is reduced.
